Description of ESP01 ESP8266 Serial WiFi Transceiver Module 1MB Flash The ESP8266 ESP-01 is a Wi-Fi module that allows a microcontroller to easily connect to a Wi-Fi network. This module is a self-contained SoC (System on a Chip); it can provide internet access to a microcontroller, just like using a Wi-Fi shield with an Arduino, or it can be directly programmed to connect to a Wi-Fi network and also perform microcontroller tasks. On the ESP-01 board, only four GPIO pins are exposed. With built-in TCP/IP support, AT command firmware, onboard LED, and low-power operation, the ESP-01 is ideal for IoT prototyping, home automation, sensor networks, and serial-to-Wi-Fi communication systems. As a result, the ESP8266 is highly versatile and helps reduce both the cost and size of your projects. Do Not Use: This module is not 5V tolerant. Applying a direct 5V input may result in immediate and irreversible damage!!! How to Program? 1. Using AT Firmware (Default) The module comes with AT commands pre-installed, allowing direct configuration through any serial terminal at 115200 baud (Both NL & CR). Example: AT → Response: OK AT CWMODE=1 → Station (STA) mode AT CWLAP → Scan available Wi-Fi networks 2.
