Description of ESP32 S3 DevKitC1 N16R8 Development Board Dual USB Type C The ESP32 S3 DevKitC-1 N16R8 is an entry-level development board equipped with ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 a general-purpose Wi-Fi Bluetooth Low Energy MCU module that integrates complete Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy functions. It perfect for AI, IoT, and advanced embedded applications. With dual-core Xtensa LX7 processors, it brings enhanced computing power for machine learning, neural networks, and signal processing projects. The board’s versatility is enhanced with its Dual USB-C ports, making it easier than ever to power, program, and interface with external devices. This board features a 16MB embedded flash, 512KB internal SRAM, and 8MB PSRAM, making it suitable for memory-intensive applications. It supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 5 (BLE). The board offers up to 34 GPIO pins and operates at 3.3V logic level. It can be powered via USB Type-C or an external 5V supply. With built-in native USB support, it enables easy programming and debugging without requiring an external USB-to-UART converter. Most of the module’s I/O pins are easily accessible through the pin headers located on both sides of the board. Developers can connect various peripherals using jumper wires or place the board directly on a breadboard. Before use, the header pins must be soldered onto the board. How to Program ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1?? The ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 is a development board based on ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 modules, which include a microcontroller with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE. It exposes most of its I/O pins through headers, allowing you to connect sensors, actuators, and other devices. You can program this board using different IDE platforms, depending on your preference and project type. The most common options are: Arduino IDE – simple and beginner-friendly, ideal for quick testing or IoT projects. ESP-IDF – the official framework from Espressif, more powerful for advanced features and performance tuning. Before programming, make sure: You have a USB cable to connect the board. Your computer recognizes the board’s USB-to-serial interface. To test the board, you can upload a simple LED blink program using Arduino IDE. Install ESP32 support in Arduino IDE Follow the guide: “Installing ESP32 Board in Arduino IDE”. Select the board Go to Tools → Board and choose ESP32S3 Dev Module.
